Welcome to the reuse page.  A staggering amount of what we throw away is in fact reusable. Much of the furniture, domestic appliances and household goods that end up in landfill can be refurbished and put to good use by members of our community.

The Council aims to make it as easy as possible for you to make goods available for reuse in the community.

There are currently two options on this page to help you make your contribution to the environment.

The Great Giveaway - The on-line bulletin board for people to giveaway, swap or take ANY goods that would otherwise be thrown away - No money changes hands - so it is all free!

The ARC (Appliance Reuse Centre) - The ARC is a charity organisation that works with the public, local community groups and the voluntary sector in Croydon. The ARC accepts solid furniture, domestic appliances, sound upholstery and electrical goods in reasonable condition. It refurbishes these goods to a high standard, gives them a new lease of life and makes them available to the community at a reasonable price.
