Croydon Schools Table TennisNews
The Championships are open to students in Croydon Schools and Colleges. There are events for boys and girls, ranging from under 11 to under 18. Entries are via schools. Closing date for entries is Wednesday, 15th March. Entries to and further information from:
Under 11 - Annual Report 2004/5 SeasonThe usual five schools again took part in the competition during the past season - but with the welcome addition of Rockmount and Whitgift 'B' swelling the numbers. Mr Barry Dighton (Chairman); Mr Keith Bartley (Hon Treasurer) and Mr David Lomas (Hon Secretary) continue to be the office holders. Whitgift School 'A' team is to be congratulated on winning the League with a 100% record. Royal Russell School were the runners-up. Financial outlay was minimal and no grant was requested through the Croydon Schools Sports Council, as monies remain in the account. The trophy, which was shared last year, will be presented to Whitgift next term. It is a pity that all the fixtures could not be completed on time but only having a few missing is better than the record of some of the other sports in the borough. My thanks to all schools and officers. With their help and efficiency it was again, I am told, a most enjoyable and successful competition. Barry Dighton March, 2005 Back to School Sports ![]()
