London Active Partnership Netball Development Plan 2002 - 2007
The Active Sports Netball Development Plan for the London Active
Partnership will aim to achieve the following:
Stage One
- To ensure that as many girls as possible from all priority groups have
the opportunity to participate in netball coaching activities.
- In year one – 22 coca cola skills award days involving 490 young
people, at least 22 level two coaches, 22 level one assessed coaches and
22 C Award umpires or above.
- In year one – 14 local coaching centres involving 292 young people, at
least 14 level two coaches, 14 level one assessed coaches and 14 C Award
umpires or above.
By year five:
- 178 coca cola skills award days with 3,560 young people attending.
- 84 local coaching centres with 1,680 young people attending.
Stage Two
To provide a network of quality junior clubs with club action plans and
Active Sports registered/ AENA Club Action Planning scheme (CAPS)
accreditation. All clubs to provide pathways from stage one activities.
- In year one – 14 Active Sports/ Club Action Planning Scheme Registered
clubs.
- By year five – 37 Active Sports/ Club Action Planning Scheme
Registered clubs.
Stage Three
To identify the most talented young people to ensure they receive
additional training and skills assessment and pursue their sporting ability as
far as they wish to.
- In year one – 2 talent scouts making at least 10 visits each per year.
- By year five – 10 talent scouts making at least 10 visits each per
year.
Stage Four
To provide satellite and partnership academies for players identified by
talent scouts to ensure all talented players are provided with the best
possible coaching and resources.
- In year one to have 2 satellite academies involving 40 young people.
- By year five to have 15 satellite academies involving 1,140 young people
and 5 partnership academies involving 300 young people.
Coaches, Volunteers and Officials
- To profile and actively develop 87 coaches in year 1
- To provide quality professional qualifications each year to ensure the
quantity and quality of coaches grows and is sustainable. By the end of
year 5 there will be approximately 1,800 new or enhanced coaches and 560
new or enhanced umpires.
- To ensure that all coaches and officials have the opportunity to develop
whatever their location or background.
