2006 Season

Addiscombe Under 14s 153  -  Croydon Schools' U14s 154 for 4 (4th August)

On Friday, the Under 14s met Addiscombe Colts at Old Whitgiftians ground and recorded a win by six wickets.

Although Croydon gained early valuable wickets of the usually dependable Steven Cox, and Luke Massiah, Sam Luffingham and Pardeep Chatwal took Addiscombe on from 25 for 2, to 124 before they were parted.

Luffingham made 49 and Chatwal 48. But then wickets fell cheaply. Croydon's opening bowler, George Edwards (St Joseph's College) bowled well, returning figures of 3 for 12 off his six overs and the irrepressible Jack Johnson (Woodcote) 3 for 4 off three overs as Addiscombe were bowled out for 153 in the last of their 30 overs.

Opener, Charlie Dennis (Trinity), dominated Croydon's reply, scoring 55, including ten boundaries as Croydon reached 65, but the loss of four wickets in rapid succession and a score of 70 gave Addiscombe some hope, but Elliot Daly (Cumnor House) top scored on 59 not out, well supported by Edwards (17 not out) and Croydon were home and dry, in style, winning by six wickets.

Addiscombe's Manager, Andrew Massiah felt that had his team managed 25 more runs then Croydon would have been under pressure.

Croydon:  Charlie Dennis (Trinity), Omar Green, George Edwards (both St Joseph's), Sujit Dadar, Daniel Pringle, Lee Wilkinson (all Riddlesdown), Elliot Daly, Amar Patel (both Cumnor House), Jack Johnson (Woodcote), Jack Coles, Matthew Winter (both Archbishop Tenison's), Michael Ridley (Edenham)

Addiscombe:  Steven Cox, Sam Luffingham, Luke Massiah, Pardeep Chatwal, Matthew Connor, Luke Cowell, James Rowe, Arjan Patel, Gurmaher Kooner, Joe McDonagh, Jay Vasan.

Croydon Schools' Under 14s 103  -  South London Schools' Under 14s 104 for 1 (18th July)

A fine innings of 43 by opener Steven Cox (Shirley High) was not enough for Croydon Schools' Under 14s to set a challenging target for visitors, South London Schools, in the final of the Surrey schools' TSB Trophy at Trinity School.

Several key batsmen failed as Croydon were bowled out for 103 in a 30 overs a side encounter, with six overs unused. South London reached their target with the loss of only one wicket, in 19 overs.
