Jack Johnson receives the John Rice Memorial Award
CSCA President, Edward Handley MBE,
presented the award to Jack on Tuesday, 7th September

Jack Johnson (Woodcote) is the winner of the John Rice Memorial Award for his bowling prowess.

Playing for Croydon Schools' Cricket Association's Under 11s in the semi-final of the Surrey Schools' Prosser-Hansford Trophy, against Mole Valley Schools, at Croydon MO's on 1st July, Jack returned amazing figures of 5 wickets for 4 runs, in four overs.

Jack - a fast bowler - opened the Croydon attack, helping to hustle out the opposition for a paltry 22 runs.  It was another disappointment for CSCA Under 14 skipper, Adam Benjamin, who took 5 wickets for 5 runs only four days previously - a performance which looked bound to land the trophy.

The award - in memory of former CSCA Chairman, John Rice - is awarded annually to the player who records the best bowling analysis in a season, whilst representing a Croydon Schools' borough side - with a minimum requirement of four wickets.
