Croydon Schools Cricket Association

U16s in action 27th July 2004
Under 16's in action at Arundel

Founded in 1894 the Association organises inter-school league and cup competitions for pupils from Under 11 to Under 16.   Representative sides, involving the best players at schools in the Borough, participate in London and Surrey Schools' competitions.

Woodcote Junior School won their third trophy this season when they won Croydon Schools' Cricket Association's Thomas Cup in the annual 7-a-side tournament at Whitgift School.

Six teams competed in the re-arranged competition.

Alex Moon was Woodcote's best bowler, returning figures of 3 for 1 against Smitham A, and 2 for 8 against Elmwood but coming in for some punishment in the final against St Peter's Primary School, taking 1 for 30.

David Gunnell was consistent in the batting of the Woodcote squad.

In the final Woodcote scored 97 for 3 against St Peter's 73 for 1.
