Community Reading Group Sets
Croydon Libraries also stock a selection of book sets which can be borrowed by reading groups in the community. Each set is made up of 6 books. They are mostly contemporary fiction, and further titles will be added occasionally.
A list of current titles can be viewed by clicking here
There is no charge to borrow a set but the person taking responsibility for the sets will need to register as a member of Croydon Libraries and will receive an extra library ticket specifically for borrowing sets.
How to borrow a Community Reading Group Set
A member of the reading group has to register as a library member to be the named person responsible for borrowing and returning the books.
You will receive an extra library ticket specifically for borrowing sets. If you are not already a library member you can join at any Croydon library by showing proof of your name and address.
One set can be borrowed at any one time.
There is no charge to borrow a set but you will be responsible for any charges for copies which are damaged or lost.
The loan period is 12 weeks. If sets are kept for longer than this, overdue charges will apply.
Sets can be requested in person or by email.

If you prefer you may register by email (to firstname.lastname@example.org) giving the above information. The Reading Group Ticket will then be posted to you.
Choosing and using reading group sets
Check the list of current titles here or you can consult the list at any Croydon library.
In person: Sets are kept at the Central Library but can be requested at any branch library.
By email: Email email@example.com with your group library ticket number and your choice of book.
Sets on loan to other reading groups will not be available immediately. We can tell you when a set is due back, and we will do our best to supply it when you want it, but this may not always be possible.
When a set is available for collection we will send it to the library you nominated.
Each group can keep a set for up to 12 weeks. If your group finishes with a set before this time please return it early so that another group can borrow it.
If you have any queries about this service please email: firstname.lastname@example.org
