What Does CDA Do?

It provides:

  • A local Helpline 08442 49 69 49 for information and support, run by volunteers from home
     
  • A resource library at open meetings for members, providing books, cassette and video tapes
     
  • Six open meetings a year, with talks by guest speakers and workshops (entry free to members, a charge made to non-members)
     
  • Newsletters for members with information about local and national events
     
  • 'Contact' magazine published by the British Dyslexia Association, supplied three times a year to dual members
     
  • Specialist teaching - names of local qualified dyslexia therapists are available from the Helpline
     
  • a Dyslexia screening service, which shows the probability of dyslexia - see 'Screening for Dyslexia page'
