Shirley Park Estate
Located in Shirley, Oaks Road Shirley Park Estate was part of the Shirley Park Golf Course which was acquired in 1951 by the Council for playing fields. The golf course was leased back to the club but the Estate was kept for rugby, football and cricket. By 1956 the demand for sports facilities was less and the area was designated open space for informal sport.
