North Down
Location in New Addington beside Lodge Lane and North Downs Crescent North Down was the first recreation ground in New Addington, it consisted of a 5.73 acre field plus a children's playground; the land belonged to the adjacent Addington Golf Course. The Ground was gradually enlarged as areas were purchased and the land was levelled for sports fields. In 1969 a field was added to the space which had previously been farmland, it was probably farmed from Castle Hill Farm which stood near the site of today's Fire Station.
