Norbury Park
Located in Norbury, between Norbury Avenue and Green Lane. Norbury Park was purchased in 1935 by the Corporation of Croydon from a builder, the conveyance describes the area as North Surrey Golf Course. The golf course dated back to 1920 and was constructed on several fields which are shown on mid 19th century plans. The 1800 Thomas Bainbridge map of the area shows that the fields belonged to Pembroke College. Norbury Brook runs beside the Park but is hidden behind a tall fence; it is a tributary of the Wandle. The children's playground, near Green Lane, was constructed in 1969/1970.
