Inwood

Photographs taken of Park Hill and Heathfields

  • Woodland bird sanctuary that is closed to the public

Located in Old Coulsdon, between Court Avenue and The Glade.

The wood was acquired in March 1935 by the Coulsdon and Purley Urban District Council under the Town Planning Act 1925 which enabled the Council to purchase land for Public Open Space.

At the time of acquisition The Glade and Keston Avenue were unmade roads and as part of the agreement the Council contributed towards the cost of making them up.

Inwood is shown on a mid-19th century plan of the area as a very similar shape to today's wood.
