Comments: I am researching the Voller family tree. This tree includes marriages to members of the Bird and Thorndel families. Any information would be helpful. Charles Thorndel (Thorndale) was a police constable and Chapel keeper in Croydon. He was married to Louisa Elizabeth ( formerly Voller). His sister-in-law, Fanny Voller was assistant Chapel keeper. They lived for a time in Oval Road and Leslie Grove. I am also looking for info. on Pamela Ford, a widow who in 1881 ran a coffee shop at 129 Gloster Rd, Croydon. At this time she had young children. Her maiden name was Pamela Thorndel. These family members came to Croydon/Sutton from the Dorking area.

I went to Fairfield Sec Mod, New Addington in the late 50's -to around 1962, I was actually born in the prefabs which were near the Addington Hotel, and we celebrated the Queens cornation on the land where there are lots of houses built. On leaving school I worked at Harringtons as a overlocker in the factory estate. I then went to work at Littlewoods in Croydon, I would love to contact any one who might remember me, I am 61 in April, Carol Rayner, Jean Moran, Hazel Smithwere good friends. She emigrated to NZ about 1920 with her husband and son. In later years she visited family who lived at 28 Little Roke Avenue, Kenley. Her brother was Charles William (known as Buff), he was involved with carnivals and fairs. I believe that he had a son called Ralph and somewhere a lady called Phyl Monger comes into the family.
