Rate books list the owners and occupiers of properties on which rates were paid. Most are arranged geographically by area and street, although in many of the earlier volumes road and street names, and house numbers, are either indistinct or simply did not exist.

• Highways Rate - Nov 1822-May 1849
• Lighting Rates - June 1829-July 1844
• Local Board of Health rates (including highways, lighting, water) - May 1850-April 1883

Parish of Addington

• Poor Rates April - 1871-November 1913
• Water Rates September - 1903-November 1913

Parish of Coulsdon

• Poor Rates - 1884-1886
• Special Expenses Rate Book - November 1896
• Lighting Rates - November 1896
