Setting Up Group Care

There are a number of different types of group care, these include:

  • Day nursery
for children under five years old, in which they can play and learn, and have fun in groups while their parents' work or study.

  • Pre-school
also known as playgroups- offer young children the chance to learn and play in small groups, often close to their home.

  • Out of school
Out of school services are for school-age children to play and learn in groups.  They are usually based in or near schools, to help families where one or more of the parents or carers work.

  • Creating an Action Plan
It is strongly recommend that you create an Action Plan if you are thinking of setting up your own childcare service.
