Welcome to Croydon Children's Information ServiceIf you have children, and you're looking for help with childcare, out of school clubs, early years education or help with a childcare career, Croydon Children's Information Service (CIS) can help you. The CIS has been set up by Croydon Council to give accurate, up-to-date information and advice about childcare. We can help you choose what's best for you and your child - and it's free! We're here to help
Do you need childcare information?Children's Information Service has leaflets, booklets, and plenty of other kinds of information on a variety of childcare options, including:
We can tell you what they offer, when they are open, and where to find them. We will usually have information about what they charge and whether they have any vacancies. We can also advise you on getting help with your childcare costs. This information will be available in a number of different languages - please let us know in advance if you need an interpreter. Are you looking for childcare for the first time?The choices can be confusing - perhaps you are not sure about the difference between one type of childcare and another. This website offers explanations of most childcare services - but if you wish, Children's Information Service staff will be happy to discuss the options available face to face. You will have the chance to talk through what is best for you and your child. All enquiries will be treated as confidential. The Croydon Children's Information Service does not make recommendations. It is the responsibility of the parent or carer to choose the most suitable care. The Children's Information Service does aim to offer a high quality service however, and to this end, we operate a publicly available complaints policy: just ask for a leaflet. What else will you find at the Children's Information Service?You will find information on parent and toddler groups, leisure groups support services, libraries, story times, schools nannies and local children's events. If we do not hold information on a specific topic we can signpost you to the appropriate information point. We also have a play area, which your children can enjoy while you have a look around or talk to the staff.
